Distance Meter 1978 Z1R was created by bluflame
Does anyone know anything about the turn signal distance meter on the Z1R MK1. My Z1R has the "Stanley" Turn Signal box however the 2 wires to the distance meter are not attached to anything. I have checked my Clymer Manual which does not show anything about it and researched the net to no avail.

I'm presuming the self cancelling units on these bikes probably died within the first few years but would be keen to get mine working properly if the parts are still available.

There is a wiring diagram here in "File Base" www.kzrider.com/filebase/doc_download/272-1000d1
It shows a red, and a blue wires. Both go to the turn signal control unit.
You can see where also it shows a electromagnetic coil inside the left side handlebar switch, for canceling. White with green stripe, power out of the turn signal control unit. Ground is where the unit bolts to the bars.
