Modern Kaw electrical connectors was created by martin_csr
Does anyone know where to get electrical connectors that are an exact oem match to modern Kawasakis?

I already have a long list of places that sell electrical connectors, so I know there are a million places to check, which I've already been doing & it is a big pain in the you know what. So if anyone knows exactly where to look, that would be a big help. Thanks.

I'm planning on installing a Ninja 250 voltage regulator onto my 81 650 & need the matching connector. The reg-rec on my bike may be bad & the wire harness connector for it is crumbling. When installing the Ninja part, it would be handy to replace my crumbly connector w one that mates to the ex250 connector.

Take a look at the connector on the far right in the second row (labeled B-13). I'm not sure, but that may be the same as the one shown in the eBay listing. You may want to contact HVCCyle and ask if the next one (B13-R; far left - third row) is the corresponding half of that connector. Ed

Those were among the first ones I checked. The B-13 locking tab seems to be different. I guess I'll try the Kawasaki dealer. Melted connectors aren't all that uncommon, so maybe they have something? fingers crossed.

I worked at a dealership that carried the big Japanese four. I don't recall ever seeing the OEM's sell separate connectors. They may have as part of a recall, but not part of a normal microfiche.

Your best bet may be to order an aftermarket set of both male and female connectors and replace both sides.

I guess if a connector melts, a dealer will replace the part & the wire harness, hence no spare connectors?

Pretty much..

Check out Namz . Parts Unlimited carries some of the connectors but not all. They cater to the HD crowd but have metric OEM style connectors as well. I've ordered several connectors using eBay and had good luck with them on hand switch control swaps but those are normally lighter gauge wires.

If all else fails, you could try these.
They look to be similar if not the same.
You can get boths connectors, and 10 of each terminal, for less than $10.

That is actually a super common connector in the Jap Car industry. Anything in the 80's will have that. Usually found at the Load Reduction Relays, also Fuel Pump Relays etc. The voltage regulators on the 70's Jap cars used it also, Male and Female. A trip to the wrecking yard, a set of wire cutters and you'll have a match for Cheap if they charge you at all.

I asked Z1 Enterprises about the stock regulator and rectifier connector/pins and this was their reply:

Alan,
Those pins, which we've spent hours searching for, seem to be both Kawasaki
proprietary, and highly guarded.

We purchase stator assemblies out of Japan that include a 6-pin connector
that plugs into the existing electrics. So someone, somewhere, is
manufacturing the pins. Unfortunately, we can't find that someone.

I wish I had a better answer for you.

Kindest regards,

I would bet that's still common with modern Kawisaki bikes.

I ended up installing the Ninja 500 voltage regulator using connectors from CycleTerminal.com. The Sumitomo .250 6-pin locking connector was an exact match for the Ninja connector, and the Sumitomo connector does actually physically fit the KZ connector, but unfortunately the Ninja & KZ wire harness connectors both have female terminals - they don't mate. So I cut off the Ninja terminals, then installed new male terminals & a new Sumitomo connector set. I also installed a medium sized connector cover (from cycleterminal).
