Timing issue was created by veloman
I have just finished rebuilding my z500, engine runs very well
but when I connected a strobe I found 1-4 were ok but 2-3 were to advanced
to move the back plate would ajust 2-3 but move 1-4 out
Is there a way to rectify this problem
thanks

Assuming these are new points - it sounds like one set or the other may not be gapped exactly right. Use a dwell meter to precisely set the gap on both sets of points, then set the timing again. If they are not new points you should replace them and don't forget to lube the felt wick. Ed
