OK, ya that's the accessory ground, for extra equipment such as grip heaters. Anyway you can see where the Black/ Yellow at the negative battery terminal is connected? This is the same, ends up going to ground at the motor block, but the open bullet connector shown in the diagram I would add a ring terminal and bolt to the frame. Your wire from the R/R if hooked into the Black/Yellow, Grounded, causes a spark/ short. You have defective diodes in the R/R.

Re: Stumped! Wiring Issue 82 KZ750 csr..
02 Nov 2012 05:47 - 02 Nov 2012 05:51The ignition coil "charges" while its primary winding is grounded.
Becoming ungrounded causes the coil to "fire" through the secondary loop.
In a points system, the primary winding grounds and ungrounds through the points.
With the igniter system, the primary winding grounds and ungrounds through the igniter, which reaches ground through a black-yellow wire.
It's important that the black-yellow wire provides a good ground from the igniter.
If the black-yellow wire fails to provide a good ground from the igniter, the ignition coil can't "charge."
Good Fortune!
