17v is too high! Your voltage regulator is not working. It should reduce the voltage just as it passes 15v and not allow it to exceed 15v. Ed

I prefer and use the "plug and play" model that doesn't require splicing, etc., at least when fitted to a relatively stock wiring environment.

The regulator may be bad or your meter is bad, but either way this has absolutely nothing to do with a hot fuse. Hot fuse is the clips, period. Like I said before, the fuse runs pretty warm in normal operation, any deficiency in contact and you have a soldering iron going there. There is simply no other possibility, regulator, shorted wiring, any other scenario one could think, none can cause the fuse to run hot, only the clips. So there is my opinion on the subject. :P

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
