If not already done, would charge the battery overnight, and have it load-tested.

Good Fortune! :)

As Patton said check the batt. Beyond that, there is enough info posted that you should be able to find it. Theres only 3 pieces to the system, Batt, reg/rect ,stator. The 2nd two only need ohm check and A/C voltage check.

Can you tell me what color wires are there and how many of each?
Im assuming your old one has a black ground wire and the 5 wire doesn't? If thats the case. If they dont have a black ground wire, they ground through the reg/rect case. Some of the electrical plates that carry the fuse box and reg/rect are rubber mounted, just make sure you have a good ground or ground the plate.
Ive also seen reg/rect's that have a brown wire, thats the voltage sensing wire, it tells the regulator what the system voltage is.

Ive used Honda, and other rectifiers on other bikes as well(not recommending it though unless you have a pretty good electrical understanding and knowledge of what each wires does and what each unit can handle.

the brown sensing wire is in the correct six wire regulator and the 5 wire does not have it.

It will work fine, as long as it is for your 3 phase system That means 3 yellows still. The voltage sense is in an internal circuit, off of the Red/ white B+ wire.
