If you convert to HID, you must use a reflector specifically designed for HID bulbs as HID light are significantly brighter than most [all ] other bulbs. Using such a bright bulb in a reflector not designed for it will blind oncoming traffic.
Maybe Otto can chime in and give you some more information.

Oh dear, that seems like alot of trouble! If i knew what bulb that was i'd settle for LED if its possible or a bigger wattage bulb if thats safe to do.
All i can find at the minute is its called a 'Bosch Type' bulb

I Can't help you there. I just deal with the standard 7" in the round. All modern light reflectors have UV coatings.

HID headlight assemblies have a lens that blocks the UVs.
An incorrect beam pattern & lack of UV filtering is why most if not all HID conversion kits are illegal for street use.
Er, no, they are illegal for street use because they are not DOT certified, and they're not DOT certified because no one wants to spend the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to get them certified.
I've never heard of anyone enforcing it though.
