No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationIt looks like #32 in the drawing would be the end nose housing, and I can only assume the Sun gear.
Part #16146-1008. Since you have it apart and have installed a kit, then this would be what you would need to finish it up.
or you could try the complete assy, #21163-1234

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationHang on, in this advert it shows the 2 pieces seperately! Now im more confused!

In the 1st pic there is a small piece of metal pictured inside the starter nose internal dust seal, i pictured it on page 1. This piece of metal must somehow lock that sun gear to the outer casing, when i stripped the motor it was lying loose in the nose!

Actually it shows it in the advert you have posted too!

That didn't show, but is it a Key, or Pin? That would lock it. Like I said i don't have one for comparison. I see something in the link, inside the circular piece it looks like a Lock Key.

I dont think its either a key OR pin, its a curved, thin piece of metal with 2 slight lugs at the top so it looks slightly like the letter T. How this fits in beats me but i reckon thats my problem!

It would be like a wedge I would bet. Somewhere around the circumference it should fit in a groove. Looks like a lock Key, for lack of better term. Wedging the Sun gear to the Nose housing, so it can't spin. But saying that it still may have been an Interference fit when new? Not sure about that, it may just be a slip fit. Any of those parts suppliers have a new one with instructions, and email or two might get the answer.
Also some of the twin owners here or where you posted on the twin forum might have the answer handy.

My friend thinks that this piece of metal might be called a "Woodruff Key", its the piece that i don't know where fits in.

He doesn't know how to install it but reckons there is a groove somewhere for it to catch on? I cant see one though.

I think that the Key will get you going once installed correctly. There Has to be a spot for it to hold the Sun Gear in place. Its got to pin that so it can't spin. Either a groove or hole around the outside circumference.
Woodruff Key, is a 1/2 moon shaped key for indexing parts on a shaft usually. Like a timing sprocket, or Dampener. But the name doesn't mater, you just need to figure where it goes, make sure it fits properly, and will stay in place. Then that starter should be good to go.
