Quick question about spark plug wires was created by kz750saskatoon
I just got some grey Dyna coils that I will be installing shortly. I'm also wanting to change the spark plug wires. I was going to use these (
www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=208
) since I have no need for suppression.
My question is about connecting the wires to the dyna coils. The inside of the secondary tower looks smooth with one notch in it. Is there a name for this type of termination? I'm not having much luck with Google and I don't want to look like a pud when I go to order the cables from a local shop. (I'd order from Z1 but being in Canada makes it expensive to do small orders from Z1.)

Just tell them that you need wires with 4 male and 4 female terminals. The terminal that goes into the coil is considered a male terminal.
Terminating plug wires can be a major bitch. I suggest getting a good ratcheting terminating tool. The hammer and vise style dies that come with many kits take some practice.....

Just go to your neighborhood auto parts store and get a set of terminal crimpers that have the 7 or 8mm spark plug wire slot in them. Strip the wire back, fold it back on itself , slide the terminal on and crimp it. Piece if cake! Oh yea, don't forget to put the boot on first or you'll really fell like a dumb ass.

Don't know the name of that type of termination, but if you buy a set of Dyna wires the terminals are included as are the boots that cover the connections at the coils. Just cut the wires to desired length, do as Dshelly suggests above and there you go.

A little rubbing alcohol works pretty good as a lubricant when sliding the rubber boot over the sparkplug wires. Give the boot a twisting action when putting it on.
