Hey guys, thanks for all the recent help relating to the Dyna S ignition system, i purchased it and it should be here soon! now i would like to upgrade the plug wires and coils as well, i am bidding on some dyna 3 ohm coils but as far as wires go i am slightly confused. Do i NEED "supression" wires if i go with the dyna S? or will ANY wires work?

I don't know who was helping you, but you can run resistor/ suppression wires, or a suppression cap, or a resistor plug. But only 1, do not mix them together. Some are running with no suppression at all, but you can cause some radio interference.

God forbid you have trouble with the reception on your radio while riding your bike.

If the Dynas have any kind of electronics or CPU controllers inside, I would be careful about running the EMI generator wide open (no suppression at all). EMI can go back into the electronics and screw them up. You find computers inside almost everything these days, and they really don't like EMI.

And don't worry about that 30 year old guy driving the old pickup sitting beside you at a traffic light worried because his wife is having a baby soon and he just lost his job, and now you're wiping out his radio reception and making him miss his favorite radio show on AM radio. I'm sure he won't mind.

I'm really sorry Judge, I didn't mean to kill that dude on the motorcycle, it's just that everything bad happened to me that day, and when that dude wiped out my Glen Beck show on the radio I just lost it.

Why take the chance? It costs you next to nothing to show a little consideration to those around you by running suppression wires, plugs, or caps. Otherwise you wipe out AM radio reception for everyone within a block of you, and the radio noise changes in time with your exhaust note, so it's easy to figure out who's causing the problem.
