I want to replace the springs with OEM, but I cant find them anywhere... without buying the whole advancer unit.
I've tried different things/springs, and yikes! Don't bother, trust me.
Anyone have some good OEM springs, or am I reserved to the purchase?

Racers usually leave the springs on there (non functional) but some take them off - ask around and see what you can find.
I have a set, but they are for a 650 and I want them as a backup set.

Looks like a lot of companies make spring kits for distributors, they should have a box of stuff like that laying around.

I made new springs. Went to Orchard Supply and found the closest which were a bit longer and cut them down. Very hard to bend, took a couple of tries. If it was possible to measure the spring overall dimensions relaxed, streched to the maximum and the force used to pull to max, you could probably find a suitable substitute. Pain in the a**, but possible

probably not cheap either.
I made a thread about it a while back, not sure where it went. Search feature is useless. Couldn't even scan the threads I started by date.
Nobody sells replacement springs.

The springs are bunk cause a P.O. already $%#&ed with them, and they were tough enough to get "acceptable" when I got the bike, but they are weak as all hell now, and its either really sloppy at idle, or strange advance as they stick for a second, then slap to full advance. Annoying for 1st gear slower take-offs.
Maybe I'll try making some like suggested...
or cut one stiffer, then soften the other...
