With the STARTER, the with wires coming from the engine
case on the left (if sitting on the bike) are a large gauge black wire. I assume to be the ground for the starter.
Then there is a cluster of wires that goes to the terminal block that has a blue plug, which contains 3 WHITE WIRES, 1 GREEN/RED WIRE AND 1 BLUE WIRE.
My question is which wire does what?
And what does each wire connect to?
My next question is which wires are which? With the generator, ie. points and condenser. There is a BLACK wire, a RED wire and a WHITE wire.
Where do these connect to?
And with the coils which wires go where? They have a YELLOW wire and a BLACK wire.
Where do these wires connect to?

In the green ribbon toward top of screen, go to Filebase under KZ Information, scroll down to 1976, and find KZ900 wiring diagram.
Or just click these links:

Still stuck on these 3 wires coming from the points-condenser-generator. which is it anyway? I've got a red, a black, and a white wire which goes to where? yeah I'm electronically challenged. I've gotten all the lights working by myself though! WHOOO HOOO!
The ignition (points or Dyna S) are on the right side. The generator (aka alternator) is on the left.
If those wires are coming from the right side, it sounds like someone replaced your points ignition with a Dyna S ignition or some other ignition.
Others will have better details on that. Patton?

A points system or a Dyna-S system is supposed to be located underneath the "points cover" plate on right (foot brake) side of engine.
The points cover is held on by two screws.
Here's the cover on my KZ900 LTD.
In the following posts, we'll look underneath the cover.

It's possible that the ignition under the points cover might be something else besides points or Dyna-S.
