Need a wiring Diagram

I was wondering if you guys could give me a wiring diagram for only the wiring required for the engine to run including the battery and ignition switches. I was going to get rid of my gauges and wire in my own lights for my bike if it runs good after this starter clutch thing. I was planning on doing an overhaul on the wiring harness thats in it now but why no just sell the original and make my own custom harness...

Making a harness by hand is a lot of work. If yours is flaky, you might want to buy one off fleabay and just use the parts you want like ignition, fuse connects, lights.

Old man Rock, will that diagram work for a 82 kz750? If not could you give me one that is bare bones but will have headlights, tail lights, turn signals, and an electric start button? Dumb question, what are all the little black double bar looking things in the diagram? I dont know much about wirring. Thanks

I think you are looking at the grounds.

no, those look like little rakes. lol. coming off of the rectifier and the ingnition and key switch etc. there are a few sets of 2 black bars that look like they break the wire. Dont know what those are. thanks

Ah, those are they way it is drawn, a published circuit would have shown a slight loop around. This is just showing that the wire continues and does not connect at those intersections.

the only other question is, on the diagram, the ignition switch has two wires that dont look like they go to anything. are those the wires that would go to lights etc?
