When I pull the clutch lever, the oil light turns on and stays on until I release the clutch lever.

Vibration and the way wires are routed may attribute to this.If your bike is like the U.S. models, the clutch lever needs to be squeezed(pulled in) to start the engine.
It's another safety feature Kawasaki added to prevent starting the engine in gear.

Sorry guys, I was wrong in my symptoms analysis. The oil light turns on when the THROTTE is released, not when the clutch is engaged. These 2 actions often happen at the same time, thats why i thought it was linked to thew clutch.
When I give gas, the light turns off and when i stop the gas, it turns on.
This sounds opposite of most normal oil pressure switch issues as I've heard them. Usually it's when the bike is "launched" from a standing start that the oil pressure goes low. Why would the oil pressure switch complain when the oil rushes forwarded during deceleration?

When throttle is released and oil light turns on, is either brake being applied?
What if bike speed is reduced from say 60mph to 20mph by cutting back on the throttle, but not closing the throttle, does oil light come on then as well?
Good Fortune!
