I just got off the phone with Dynatek Told them what it was doing and how the old rotor fixed it and he told me that sometimes when they make those rotors the magnet gets put in backwards.
They are sending me a new rotor at no charge and to throw the other one away.
Pretty darn good guys to work with I'm very happy with their service.
Thanks again Patton & Omr
Omr...I need to check it out but what's its doing is the test light is very dim when you hookup for the static timing.
With the old rotor the bike fires up now and runs fine

Outside of the normal Voltage, resistance and amperage measurements, includes Tach, Dwell, temperature and capacitance all in one fairly cheap priced unit...
If just looking for a decent auto ranging digital volt meter (Voltage, Resistance and Amperage), Home Depot, Lowes, Radio Shack all have Digital Volt Meters for ~ $30...

Advantages of analog meters include being inexpensive (the example pictured below is about $10), and aren't adversely affected by running engine's ignition system, which may influence readings on some digitals.
I have both analog and digital and invariably reach for the analog when using with the bikes.
For just one example, if a circuit has no resistance, the ohmmeter needle jumps across to max. Easy to see and understand. Like touching the probe tips together (yes, craig, as in tip toucher). And when measuring ohms in an ignition coil, it's easy to read the 3 ohms. Or secondary loop at 15+K ohms.
Same with the voltage readings. I trust that moving needle. Like tach and speedo, simply prefer sweeping needle as opposed to digital readings.
Good Fortune!

BTW, those analog meters are fully functional meters for measuring Voltage, Amperage & Resistance...
