I don't have a manual for my 1980 KZ750 LTD so I was just wondering:

What is the STOP FUEL LAMP?

What does it mean?

That's a new one to me.

Does it mean you are low on gas?

Maybe, when I bought the bike it was lit constantly and it got brighter when I applied the brakes. Now after I put some gas in it it only illuminates if I apply the brakes. I know it makes sense that it means low fuel but is it saying maybe to stop the fuel and throw it to reserve? I'm not sure

I just wish I new what it meant exactly.
I can see how it reacts, just not why it's there.

Have to go home and look at my bike. You have a low fuel sensor that has a red light on the lower part of the tach. Manual says that if you have 1/5 tank left, it turns on. Kind of annoying...for me it usually turns on after about 77-90 miles. One of the disadvantages of the Ltd tank. Have to check on the brake light though.....

Looking at the wiring diagram it is labeled as being a low fuel indicator as well as a brake lamp failure indicator. I'm not exactly sure how it indicates each of those separately, you would have to look in the owner manual for that.

Sigh....oh well, wasn't going to get anything else done today. Below is a wiring diagram for the '80 kz750. Looks like your low fuel light is combined with your brake light failure indicator. You can get this diagram plus the full kz750 manual at: kz.mbsween.com

Okay so is that supposed to mean when I hit my brakes this light should not illuminate because when it does it means I have brake problems? I seem to be able to break okay but I think the bike is running low on break fluid. Could this be why?

(BTW, I got my manual on its way.... Thanks eBay!!!)

I would venture a guess that it the brake stop light goes on when low on fuel or if one of your brake bulbs goes out entirely or loses one of the filaments (running or brake). That's been my experience with other vehicles. so I would pull the lens and check for both the running light and the brighter brake light.
