Batteries for these bikes that accept the low water battery sensor are not available. Ive heard that grounding the sensor wire will stop the blinking warning light. can anyone verify this & tell me which wire to ground ? Do you cut the sensor off & ground that wire or what ? Thanks for the help.

I believe if you put a 9 volt battery RED Positive(+) terminal to the sensor wire and ground the BLACK Negative(-
)terminal to the frame, it should shut off the flashing battery sensor indicator. It was a nice idea, except the batteries are not available now.

Some riders have pluged the battery sensor wire back into the harness after finding a 12 volt source(I don't like doing this as it may cause problems later on).

That's funny. My '79 KZ750 did not come with a low water sensor in the battery, but the batteries I bought from JC Whitney for it always came with that sensor. I had to pull it out and stick a battery cap on the hole.

I did that on my GPz 1100, connected the wire (pink in my case) the battery sensor plugs into to a switched 12V source - ran it like that for 4 years without any issues until I switched to an Acewell gauge that doesn't have the warning light.

On a whim, consulted the shops' yuasa application chart (2009) It listed for the 82 GP750R a YB12AA. with a side bar noting it was avail. with or without sensor
and that dealers should specify when ordering. The YB12AA, states on the box, it's the replacement for the old 12n12A-1 ( a very common battery in the day) I think you've miss-informed as to it's being discontinued. Also, look at your' old sensor, I believe you'll find its' submerged tip/core to be lead/antimony, thus making it a battery cell in itself.(voltage unknown) luck G
