Installing relays are far easier than modifying parts. At least, I think so.
Mind you, I'm short on tools, and I'm an electrician...
Might have something to do with it. Maybe.

just kidding big fella, ive been doing wiring longer than plumbing (on-off 29 years now)i figure the tailight is right there next to his turn signals so theres his constant 12v when lights are on,same thing up front in headlight bucket.turn signal wiring is already there so theres very little work involved in the process.there is already a mess of extra wiring in these bikes to try and chase down when theres a problem without adding extra stuff to leave you scratching your head on side of road is all im saying.

Bill, you won't find red lenses for the stock Kawasaki turn signal housings. I went to Napa and a few other auto stores and searched around till I found the closest lense I could and adapted that.
This was a very easy mod that took about an hour, and most of that time involved swapping out the bulb sockets.
My plan is to eventually go with aftermarket bullet type housings with red lenses. Yes, any amber lenses in the rear that burn as running lights can be ticketed.

The proper way to do it is to use dual filament bulbs.
The bright filament for turn signals is hot enough to melt lenses if they are on all the time. The dim filament is much lower in wattage and is meant to be on all the time.
