Red replacement lenses for KZ750 rear signals?

After doing some rear signal mods, I'm looking for stock replacement lenses that are red (not amber). I've tried both red gel bulb caps, and spray tinting the original amber lenses, but neither looked right to me when lit (and both methods are illegal here anyway). I want to keep my original housings, but unfortunately, the original lenses were never available in red.

So, can anyone think of some generic red replacement lenses, perhaps trailer lenses(?), that with a little reworking will fit the stock housings?

I scoured the net a long time looking for red lenses.

The only ones I saw were the red lenses Kawi made for the cop bikes. I saw a couple on fleabay for like $20 each. hence the reason I painted mine red....

I am not sure painting them is illegal, but nobody could tell if you use this stuff:

Testors Transparent Candy Apple Red #1605

From three feet away, I can't even tell.

The clear frosted lenses are cool. Lots of bikes run those now with colored bulbs inside. If it's not frosted, I don't think it will diffuse the light very well.

Here is what the amber turn signal lenses look like sprayed with the testors paint (lights off). The color match looks perfect to me.

Here is with the lights on:

Note: these are using the red Luxeon LEDs for bulbs instead of stock bulbs.

Bring one of your housings to a Honda dealer, I think the lights were made by the same company and I know the Hondas have red tail lights. Bob

Ya, I'd like to know. If it's not too weird looking I might put my extra lights back on with that lense.
