Im thinking the dyna 2000 next winter...lol. I figure it should get here tuesday or wendsday. Instalation should be just like my z1 right?

well, i got home from work today and my dyna-s was sitting on my door step. So i went to hook it up, got everything hooked up right. Now when i start it on full choke it revs up to like 3500 to 4000, then after it warms up and i let the choke down it dies. Also there is no throttle response what so ever. Im going to staticly time it on friday by way of OMR's tutorial. Then my friend is letting me use his timming light so i can time it that way also. I think it is way out of time as of now, but i was getting tired so i called it a night. Any ideas? Thank's, jim.

I love the dyna 2000 i have on my 810. Very simple to hook up, and works great. Adjustable rev limiter is cool too :)

Gah.....this bike is driving me crazy. I cant get it to rev up or run when i let the choke off. Im really starting to wonder if i have the magnetic rotor 180 degrees off? I dunno im going to check that out tomorow, i noted plugs 2 & 3 were carboned fouled while 1 & 4 were normal. The timing is dead balls on, i cheaked it with my friends timing light. Im also going to put new NGK B7ES plugs in her. What should they be gapped to for the dyna-s?

It is possible to be 180 out, so try that before tearing into the wiring. As for the plug gap, I believe 0.028 to 0.032 should work.

Ya i will check to see if it's 180 off before i tear into the wiring. I will set the plug gap to 0.030. Thank's MFolks.

Well, if this helps when I put mine on reading the instructions to the "T" and they were wrong and when I figured that out I got the bike running just fine. The wires were backward on the diagram. Whatever it was it was a mistake on the instructions. When I finally let go of the directions and listened to my neighbor the bike started up and ran great. It was so hard to do because I am such a sucker for following directions precisely. But I could not get it started being 180 off. He kept telling me and I was like no that can't be right. I did it precisely to the instructions and I timed it with the light and it was perfectly 180 out. lol It belched fire from the pipes, backfired and other rude behavior but it never started. Once I switched and now I cant remember if it was a green wire and a brown wire she fired up and ran like a top. I was madder than a hornet and wanted to torch my bike. I called them and their answer was that not all of the bikes are wired the same. What?!

Well, I hope you get her running. Tomorrow we are going to Milwaukee and you are welcome to join us. Late notice I know but you never called me so I could have invited you.

The way the bike is now is spits blue flames out of the pipe, it dosent run without the choke. Im really thinking it's 180 out.......im hoping that is. I would love to ride with you all tommorow, but i have to work at the fire house or else i would.

Wow..........i feel really special, they dyna-s was spot on and perfect the whole time. The problem you ask??????? Like a dummy, i never checled for air leaks at the intake manifolds, i guess i never tightened down one of those alan head bolts as well as i thought i did. So, i pulled the carbs, and all 4 brand new rubber intake manifolds,l put some silicone sealer on them, and tightened them down. Left it seal all day, went out put the carbs on. Fired it up ran really strong, dropped the choke off, and it idled really good, and reved up at a twist of the throttle. No more bogging or backfiring. I some how shot the baffle out the end of the pipe on a quick shake down run tonight. So i need to find one asap.
