The stock kz starter is 0.6 kW and the Honda part is 0.8 kW, so it can spin things harder/faster. If your bike uses the 1000's starter then this is the mod for you.

As long as your not bumping the compression too much, then the stock setup should be fine. It never hurts to make sure your battery is good and the connections to the starter are clean and tight.
