Keys for old kaws!

Hey guys,

I have been trying to find someone for a while that had the right blank to make me a couple spare keys for my 80 kz250. I ended up stumbling upon a site the other day that listed the bigger kz's but not mine. There was a note to email the guy with model info, so I did. He ended up having the blanks, and cut them too from the code on the original.

If you're looking for keys, this is the least stressful way to get them. The website is:

www.motorcyclekeys.com/blanks.html

his email is:

autolock@aol.com

his name is:

John

and he is super quick with service, very professional, and quick to respond to emails. I think I'm going to have him make me a spare for my truck if he can get the right blank for that too!

If you want genuine precut Kawi keys, I'd try these two Ebay vendors:

ajjohnson6

yourtrash-mytreasure

I've bought various original Kawi and Suzi keys off these guys going back about 3 years and both were excellent Ebayers. Do your due diligence to confirm that both vendors are STILL good guys to deal with, though.
KZ650C2 Stock/mint. Goes by "Ace".
H2A Built from a genuine basket case. Yes,it's a hot rod.
GT550A Stock/mint. Pleasant stroker.
2006 Bandit 1200S for easy LD rapid transit
Various H2 projects in the wings.

my buddy works at a hardware store and my kz9oo was easy for him ,but, he can look at any vehicles key and recognize wether or not he has a blank to modify..mine took ten minutes with a seasoned key maker, cost a 1.81 and works perfect for a back up...just a thought...peace.
i think it was a really older ford truck blank but i'll check and reply

It looks like the Kaw 3M blank on the mc keys link. JMK.

Everywhere I went locally (and granted, I live in the boonies) had a key that was close, but just a little too thick. I even had one cut for me, just to see if it would work. Would open the gas tank, but couldn't squeeze it into the ignition lock or the seat lock. That's why I was having problems!

I had one made at the local locksmith in town. The thickness was right but the length was a little long but works good. It's been three years so I should get new one done soon. Thanks for the info.

This blank will work for any KZ, ZG and probably most all other Kawasakis. If your local hardware doesn't stock it, have them order a few blanks and they can cut a perfect key for your Kaw. Many Kaw dealerships also carry this blank.

In the UK a good place to get vintage Kawi keys cut is your local CIA Security shop.
