Electronic Tacho Conversion
06 Aug 2008 04:12
Has anyone replaced their mechanical tacho with an electronic one? I have a GPz750 engine in my '77 KZ650, which has no worm gear for tacho drive, so I need to fit an electronic one, but I want to keep the existing tacho housing. Has anyone done this, how easy was it?
I have a GPz550 instrument panel in bits, could I use the tacho from this, how do I wire it in etc.??

No, this isn't what I'm after, I want electronic not digital. It must fit in the Z650 tacho housing, and look the same... Anyone done this?

Never done it, but take a look at 81-83 KZ1000J and 81-82 KZ1000K (LTD) gauges, I think they are about the same size and both have electronic tachs.
