what did you end up having to do about the fittings for the cable?

Hey Banshee, The fittings fit. Same threads as the original speedo. No mods necessary.
The previous owner took off the shocks and welded a plate on each side from the frame to the swingarm. not too pretty but the saddle bags hide it. Some pics posted here.

So was it the 2240:60 ratio? I only asked because I just installed an aftermarket and it must be a 1:1 ratio. I was showing 80mph but probably going half that, and the OD read 3.2 mile and I was a mile or so away from house at most. Anyway time to ebay that one and get a correct ratio speedo.

what about your wheel size? it also needs to be the same size as the donor bikes.
