Hi all, I'm after a wiring diagram for a combined regulator/rectifier Z650, or if one has been put up hee somewhere, post me a link perhaps.
Going more modern on my bike after confirming a dud rectifier.
Regards, Andrew.

If this works there is one in the filebase. That link should take ou there, if not just search the filebase under the Community tab for wiring diagram.

Here's a B1 Wiring Diagram. The C1 has the Hazard Switch, relay and wiring that's missing in this one.

Ooops. You wanted the combined reg/rec one. I saw your signature and got mixed up. Here's a dia. with the combined:

If it's really only the rectifier, you can make one. It's not pretty, but it should work.

Thanks for that guys. I considered building a rectifier, but couldn't find the bridge thingies locally, plus I would still have had that ancient voltage regulator in the back of my mind.
I also found out today my battery goes flat all by itself, sitting on the bench for 12 hours after fully charging it. How wonderful!:woohoo:
Regards, Andrew.

O.K, so I have a combination Reg/rec off a GPX 250. I know the three yellows are from the alternator, so if I connect the brown(switched 12v?) and black(ground?) to the same coloured wires that only leaves a white/red coming out if the new regulator, so where should that go?
The new reg/rec is a Kwaka part # SH530-12

That goes directly to the battery. Usually it goes to where the positive battery cable connects to the starter relay.
You may want to put a temporary, in-line, 30 amp fuse on the wire before connecting it in case the wiring is different with that model.
You are right about the black (I would have expected a yellow or white stripe on it), and brown wire.
Make sure that brown wire gets battery voltage any time the ignition key is on. If that brown wire loses voltage, the regulator does nothing and can fry the whole bike (when running).
