81 KZ parts needed
17 Nov 2006 16:26
Hi,
I'm new to all of this. I need to find out where I can get a petcock, and a fuel indicator float switch for my bike. Thank you.

The sending unit has a float that bobs in the gas. It works sort of like the plumbing inside a toilet tank... I suspect if you take the time to look up the part number, you will see that the J model send unit is the same as on many bikes. FWIW, the send unit on my 79 KZ1000E1 ST works but is kind of crazy with the fuel level showing bearing no relation to reality... I have another and will eventually swap and see if the other works better. I also have one off a Vulcan 1500 somewhere and I think they are the same (memory).
