Jet size

Hi,

I have a 1983 KZ550Ltd and need to upjet it to compensate for my new 4into1 exhaust. I have checked the manual and the main jet is a "#92". My query is: is this the actual size of the main jet or is it some sort of part number?
Thanks in advance for any help :)

Not real familier with 550's but that should be the jet size. Generally you go up 1 or 2 sizes with free flowing pipe, someone else will pipe in. Are they Mikuni carbs?

It means .92mm in Tekei speak... You can probably go up one jet size and be fine... To rejet, buy a Keihin small head main jet (like in a Harley shop)... a #95 main jet will be OK... A #97.5 will be OK as well. If you don't want to go to the Harley shop, www.z1enterprises.com can get you these main jets. The Keihin jets are interchangeable with Tekei main jets which are not available. The Tekei are hex shaped and the Keihin round but the thread and sizing is the same.
