I have a 1975 kz400. I need new carbs and found a set of 440 carbs cheap. Would these fit my bike without major modifications. I hear parts are also easier to get for later carbs.
From my experiance with the 1977 kz400 carbs and a 1981 kz440 engine the old carbs will not bolt right on. Problem is the KZ440 intake ports are closer together.

At the very least, they used different size carb holders. You'll need to use the 440 one and widen the bolt holes slightly to get them to match the 400 bolt pattern.
