Hi folks,
I recently rebuilt my vacuum style petcock and I've discovered that it opens under vacuum, but doesn't close right away when vacuum is removed. Over time, the spring tension will close the flow, but not right away. Is this because the o'ring isn't going into the orfice fully to seal off the flow of gas? Or is the diaphragm plate bottoming on the phenolic plate before the o'ring can seal off the flow. The only fix I can see would be to thin the phenolic plate to allow more travel on the plunger pin. What do you think?
