BS34's / Cleaning Tank

I just got a new set (new to me) of BS 34's off of Ebay. A buddy of mine has a cleaning tank that uses some kind of solvent. I want to dip the whole set of carbs in there and let them soak for a day or two. Is there a solvent out there that I can buy that I won't have to dissasemble all the little rubber pieces (the ones in connection with the choke bar for example). I was thinking maybe fill the tank up with diesel fuel?

Kerosene is about the only solvent I would trust with the rubber. Tax paid diesel costs more and is the pretty much the same stuff only less refined.

Have had good success here with lacquer thinner and disassembly. Keep it off the rubber. Use some small brass wires and pipe cleaner. DO not take off the butterflys as per the manual. Take out all the jets, clean all the passages. The 'brand name' spray carb cleaners work well too but cost more.

Do one at a time.
