Hi all, I have a parts bike in need of carbs. I am planning on going with a cafe style bike, so will be replacing most stock items. The bike needs carbs, and I was wondering what I can use.

Do I need to stick with carbs from a 77 kz650 or can I use some other years or models. I am not very mechanical, so am wanting a set to bolt-on then tune up. Any help would be appreciated so I know what to look for on ebay.

And if anyone happens to have some that would work...I would be willing to negotiate an offer.

Hey ratmeister. I have spent a few years trying to massage more power out of a 650 in a variety of incarnations, so I have a little hands-on experience to share. The quickest way to a noticeable power bump is more cc.'s as there is no replacement for displacement.

For the price of a good set of carbs and a pipe and other cosmetic goodies you can probably pick up a good running Kz750/4 or Gpz 750 motor that will pretty much just drop into the frame of your 650. It is hard to beat the engineering of the Kawasaki factory.

Clean up the runners on the head with some mild porting and snag the electronic ignition off the donor bike. You will be pleasantly surprised at how easy and inexpensive this power bump can be.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Practically all of the 650, 750 and 900/1000 will fit. Early Suzuki GSXR and even GS carbs fit as carb manifold boots have same spacing. Flea-bay should ahve oodles. A set of 26mm (not to desirable for 900) would go nice on stock motor.
