Picked up a 1979 KZ1000 police bike in rough shape. The carbs have had little critters plug up the small holes on the intake side with mud. Are these salvageable? Just what do the holes at 4 and 7-o-clock do? Also there is an accelerator pump mounted on the #2 carb but there is also a triangular mount with three screw holes on the bottom of bowl #2. Any idea what is missing? Thanks much!

The carbs will obviously need to be cleaned but mud dobbers can be removed in an ultrasonic cleaner or if you work at it real hard with carb dip and spray carb cleaner.

As far as the pump goes, there isn't a part missing. The pump was used in two different modes. The one didn't use the bottom part. The passageway that leads to the bottom creates a two-stage pump on 650 models and the pumper VM26s but isn't used on the VM28 type pumps. The little passageway that connects the upper and lower diaphragm chambers is plugged with a small BB type thing.
