I'm working on an 84 GPZ750 which has stood idle for about 8 years. I've rebuilt Mikuni carbs and I can't get the darn thing to remain started. It's started for brief periods (sounds good) but I don't seem to have control over throttle. Pouring gas in cylinders will also make it start for a brief moment. I have gas flow from tank and there's gas in the float bowls. Any suggestions? Tim

Sounds like the fuel level in the float bowls is to low, but I'm no carb expert

What airbox and pipes are on the bike?
