Source for new air filter foam? was created by ww2willys
I'm working on getting a 1976 kz900 running that has been sitting for twenty years. The stock air filter and box were replaced with an aftermarket chrome rectangular shaped filter. It is solid on the back side and has a mesh screen around all 4 sides. Of course the foam has crystalized and is no good. Anyone know where I can get just the replacement foam? I have seen the whole filter assembly on ebay put they also look old. Should I just replace it with pods? Going back to stock looks to be fairly expensive. Thanks for any help.

this is an old post, but it just came up in a search.

i'm using the same aftermarket rectangular air box. i bought it on ebay and the vendor included some 'universal' replacement filter foam (BF-4).

this is the unifilter site:
www.unifilter.com/online%20catalog/accessories.html

and this is the dennis kirk site (BF-1):
www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/P...00&leafCatId=&mmyId=

thought it might help anyone else looking for some universal air filter foam.
