You might want to start with around a 122 main. Do you pods, header and such?

Jetting kind of depends on WHICH 28mm carbs, what type airbox, what type pipes, what compression, what cams, non-stock porting and other issues. With no information to work with, any guess I could make would definitely be most likely wrong.

Hello George
All standard except the marshall 4 into 1 exhaust. The carbs are the standard 28mm.
What about the compression I think it is knocking!! due to standard cams etc with 1200cc???

They put VM28 carbs on Kaws in 73, 74, 75, 78, 79 and 80. Most all of them were jetted differently. To rejet, you must have a baseline. You have a stock airbox? Stock compression with 1200 pistons?

Yes, stock airbox and filter and wiseco pistons with specified compression of 1 to 12.25.

Well, without knowing the type of VM28, I am going to guess at jetting and say leave the jets in the carbs you have alone. If your pipes turn blue or the bike overheats, go up in size on the main and pilot jets.
