Throttle cable

Hi, can anyone tell me the outer and inner cable lengths for the throttle cables for a 1977 Kawasaki Z1000A1 with high bars?, i bought both open and close cables from Zpower but i cannot get any free play at the throttle tube, i installed the close cable first couldnt,t get any free play, then connected the open and still no free play, so it will rev but doesn,t snap shut and when you turn handlebars to the right, the throttle will not return. also the adjusters at the throttle tube end are fully screwed in
