RS 34 Install

Getting ready to fit the RS 34 onto my KZ, i have bench synched the carbs and have spent a good bit of time getting them as close as i can.
iI it Recommended to vac balance on the bike ?  the lock nut and screw arrangement doesnt seem very easy to adjust with a running bike, also it looks as if with the carb tops off it can pull in extra air ?  

Any recommendations on this ?

I just checked the slide gaps (bench sync) which were good as they were a used set and installed them on my 831cc 650 engine. Ran great like that, no need to vacuum sync as far as I could tell.

I did put a Colortune plug on the head to check the pilot settings and that was all it needed to run perfect.

 

Mikuni gives the recommended jet settings in their catalog, start with that and see how it runs. Those jetting recommendations are for race bikes so don't be surprised if it is too rich for your street engine.
 

Consider that no two engines are identical, and each will have variation between cylinders.

At least verify the balance is good with a sync tool, and move forward from there.

I will put the vac gauges on it, just to see how close they are and hopefully they are not too far apart, i just need to check float levels,

I recently had an issue with the BS34,s on the bike with one carb flooding, i had checked the needle seat, and set float height but it kept flooding, i eventually set the height by the wet method and have had no more issues, i will check the RS carbs the same way and check, all float heights are set at the correct height, but i like to verify on the bench before i fit them.

Hopefully theses are not too far out, carbs are only a year or so old, i want to check to be sure before install, bench checking shows they are set to correct height, we will see !
