Wednesday marked the last day of the season for my black A2; I went for a quick 80 km ride... and immediately afterwards, I removed the bodywork. I test-fitted the tail section and side covers, as well as the tank and fuel petcock... and next week, these parts are off to the painter. – The image shows how I envision the Z1-style striping layout, though the base color will remain black! – (And I still need the "right" taillight bracket; the one shown here sits simply too low and too far away from the tail section...
...another 7 month of this bike-season are gone,...autumn again,...another 4-5 month to the next spring and my bike riding-season...boy oh boy, time is running at supersonic speed...must be "warp 11"....
...
Time for tinkering—at least as long as the temperatures here stay above 6°C; below that, it gets too cold for me to work in the garage...

Hey Joe, as this one isn't stock have you considered shortening the fender and going down the Honda Fireblade light route as Scirocco and I have done ??

Hi Guy,Thank you for your attention and your suggestion....you're right: I’ve strayed a bit from the "stock style," ...but not *that* far
...
That kind of taillight mod was never really my thing, so it wasn't an option for me
On some bikes,—like your custom build—it looks great, but personally, I want to preserve as much of the original lines as possible, staying true to the custom spirit of the late '70s... that’s why I don’t run wide tires, for instance; I’m still perfectly happy riding on my skinny "pizza cutters"... hahaha.
((And to clear up the story: When I bought the Kawa a few years ago, exactly *that* kind of taillight was this way installed in the tail section... I just didn't like it, so I reverted it to the stock setup.))
(You know: He who follows his own marching pace hears a different drum.... i was mostly different in my taste, or kind of living...and hopeless oldschool..
