VM29 Smoothbore slide setup

Sorry I thought we were talking about the 33's. The air jet has a big influence on off idle take off, I'm going a little larger on my 33's due to poor mileage. 

Thankyou all for very useful information, my Sudco/Mikuni book seems to be the same for a lot of those specs. I may try a 117.5 main later but at this point in time I’m going to delve into the linkage recommendations as if idle screw won’t let it it come down there is a setting issue somewhere. Should the pilot used be smaller as stated by WG or have people had success with book specs?

If it helps. GD4now correctly mentioned the use of similar cross-over similar slide lifter from the 1976-77 VM26mm used on the KZ900. They are a bit more complex then needed and require a different method for syncing each slide. Also the 2-piece pot zinc pieces can get galled/bound resulting in bind and slide not fully seating. Note the spring between the 2 pieces.     One shown doesn't have the locking set screw plate but it goes under set bolt and adjust screw but only tabs up on set bolt. If someone mis-adjusted/fiddled with the set bolt this too will cause slide not to seat correctly.  

I have resumed my search on carb issues with my 29 Smoothbores. I have found that sadly mine are the Suzuki-prep model so I have the 2.0 cutaways. I tried the carbs after syncing again and utilized the Kawasaki recommended adjustments however I was stuck exactly at just under one turn out of the air screw with poor running adjusted anywhere else, generally at idle and low speed. I tried google/AI for a recommendation and found the recommended starting point was where I was jetted and adjusted and it was stated that 1/8 to 1/3 throttle would be an issue keeping the 2.0 cutaway slides. As the bike pulls very well above that I decided to try a one size larger pilot, (27.5) and one size larger main, (122.5) to see what changes I would experience. Does this sound like a feasible course to run with the previous tuning issues, if not does anyone have 1.5 slides available as Z1 Enterprises is the only outlet found at 4106 each x4 x 1.5 and shipping to due exchange?
