runnin wide open

was helping a buddy with his yuck 82 suzuki gs1000 and after remounting his mikuni bs34 carbs it runs wide open at startin varooooooooooooom checked the cable and it is hooked up properly and moves freely. what could cause this? and where could i find a drawing of that carb?

do those have air screw? and where are they? and would one of these cause this. i think he was messing with one and possibly didnt seat it correctly would that do it

It sounds to me like the throttle linkage is binding somewhere. I'd suggest checking to make sure that the screws for the clamps that hold the carbs into the manifolds aren't catching on the throttle linkage and causing it to bind.
I just dealt with this exact same thing on my bike not more than an hour 1/2 ago. The throttle grip itself acuated smoothly, but the screw in the clamp for the #2 manifold was preventing the throttle linkage from returning to the fully "closed" position = Vrooooooooom! :ohmy:

freaking eh that was it retro (theres yer sign lol) dummies we r thanks a million. i still would like to know what those screws on the top side of the carbs are they are on the engine side

its ok wireman your the man its just retro didnt assume i loked for that and you did, you had confidence in me so thats ok. once saw a supervisor hired under me use burn spray as a lubricant on a machine at work, and as far as retro knows i could be that kinda guy lol. thanks though fellas u helped make him a happy camper even though hes on a gs.
