20 Oct 2025 13:09
Can anyone tell me what jetting I will need for my CVK32 carb swap on my KZ650. I am planning on running my pods and 4 into 1 setup

Re: CVK32 jetting on KZ650 with pods and 4into 1
Yesterday 06:08 - Yesterday 06:10I saw you posted on the Z650 site on the CVK32 swap thread. Did you get the jetting info you need? Can anyone tell me what jetting I will need for my CVK32 carb swap on my KZ650. I am planning on running my pods and 4 into 1 setup
My bike is a KZ650 with a KZ750 engine swap. It has CVK34 carbs with air box and stock dual exhaust, so my jetting does not match anything on that thread otherwise I would have answered your questions.
I think because your using pods you may have a little bit of a hard time setting up the jetting. My carbs came setup for pods/pipe with a Dyno Jet kit (adjustable thin needles, slides drilled, big mains) I still have the needles and probably will never use them, not sure if they would fit a CVK32. If you get the carbs and want to compare the needles just let me know.

...and speaking of pods. The cheap Emgo/chinesium pods that are so popular due to low cost are JUNK. If you must use pods, at least get some proper pods. K&N are the defacto standard. Depending on the carb throat size, APE may have something that fits. Even the cheaper foam UNI's are superior to the china crap.

Re: CVK32 jetting on KZ650 with pods and 4into 1
Today 19:23 - Today 19:51
Thanks for the offer, I'm still getting things together and I think I will go back to the airbox. I'm looking for a complete airbox with a filter cover and mounting brackets. I have a Vance and Hines 4into1 that I wish to use. Im trying to follow Pablo's Z650Spirit tutorial as close as I can. I have intakes, and Carb rebuild kit coming still have to look for an airbox and boots Thanks again, I will let you know what happens. The carbs should be here in a few days.

I'm still on the fence about continuing with my pods (k&n) but I want to keep my V&H 4into1 so I will need to do some minor jetting. I'm trying to follow "Pablo's Z650 Spirit tutorial" as close as I can. Thanks for the info too.

Re: CVK32 jetting on KZ650 with pods and 4into 1
Today 20:15I had a V&H pipe with pods on my stock 650 back in 1985. From what I remember they don't take too much to jet, it ran good on #15 pilot (stock) and #107.5 main with the needle at stock height.dustydeck post=918290 userid=82701I'm still on the fence about continuing with my pods (k&n) but I want to keep my V&H 4into1 so I will need to do some minor jetting. As far as the CVK swap they do run better than the stock carbs, well worth the effort to upgrade especially if your riding it a lot. I prefer air box over pods, with the pods you get extra noise and side winds on the road do effect the way the engine runs.
