Does anyone have a spare jet needle for the 1982 KZ1100 shaft bike. Kawasaki part number is 6009-1088 and and its stamped 5gx28
Or are there other needles that would work in this bike. I have one that is very worn

Those are hard to find, have been looking sporadically for years. I love those because even with pods the CV's function just fine. They changed them in 1983, much fatter tip. I might have a dangler in a tub? But not the difference between Suzuki and Kawasaki, both 1983 1100's. The ones shown have blunt tipped needles whereas Your's have a sharp point.

Yes I have noticed that needle with a blunt tip. Looks like they used that on the KZ1000 bikes with the same emulsifier jet. I wonder if they would work. Im about to but another set of cheap carbs just for spare parts. im afraid that the carb in question will run rich with that needle. I did pick up a set of good emulsifier jets which will help. There is a cheap set of Chinese carb kits that they list for the 81-83 KZ1100 and they show tat blunt tip needle.

Part number is 16009-1088 man they look hard to find (KZ1100 A1,A2 & A3) if you search CMNSL by model it lists 16009-1089 for the A1/A2/A3 (looks like the blunt tip) good luck

Yep already checked Cmsnl for both of those needles to no avail. I bought a set of cheap china kits which have blunt needles and will have a look at them. Even checked for Canada needles no luck. Worse comes to worse I will try the needle I have with better tubes and see how it runs then try the cheap China sets. Never know.

Well thanks to Clay (asphalt900) I think we have these figure out. Clay had a good set of 83 jets and needles which will work as long as I change the main jet. So the carbs have new diaphragms from JB industries and 83 internals along with a good cleaning. Thanks again Clay for your help.

Man..You have been busy!! Glad You received them Always Glad to help! Just FYI i have the weird looking M5 Phillips #2 flange screws for that upper bracket if you're going for original. Even the correct Yellow Chromate color. They use them for license plate retaining screws, buy 100 for 10bucks, ha. Have a Great Day!
