The Fuel injected KZ750 in Japan!
03 Jun 2025 06:22
I was talking a friend who runs a bike shop in Japan last night. I asked him if Japan ever got the KZ750L3. He said not really, theirs was badged a GPZ750 and was FUEL INJECTED. It was only for a year or two, he said, because CB radios conflicted with the FI on the bike (?!)
Has anyone here ever seen one of these FI 750s?

That's quite a hoot, wouldn't of thought RF at those 26-27ish MHz would of affected those crude early FI processors? Don't know if Japan got the "upgrade" consent from 23 to 40 channels like the states but? Wouldn't of thought unless you were to mount a transceiver right over the control box it would be a problem. Maybe Japan used different frequencies for output?

I just happen to have the parts manual for the Japanese GPz750...you are welcome to take a peek at it, if desired. It is officially modeled the Z750-V1(GP). I think it is a 1982 model, but the paint scheme on it is similar to the 1981 GPz550 and GPz1100.

My friend with the Tokyo bike shop says he has worked on a few of them over the years. He said the system is kind of like the Z-1 Classic FI ...
I am thinking of asking him to try and source an entire system and then shipping it over.
Would love to see a PDF of the service manual.

I do not have the service manual, only the parts manual...but sometimes one can get lucky on eBay. Part numbers for the Z750-V1 literature are:
Parts manual: 99911-1055-02
Service manual 99925-1012-02
DFI manual 99925-1020-01
