Re: 1983 KZ750 F1 Carbs driving me crazy!
02 Jun 2025 07:49Thank you for the clarification. I will try and do that tonight along with grabbing a video. No, once they are full, disconnect the fuel line and connect a hose to the fuel T on the carbs which you can then blow in gently (any that aren't seating will allow you to blow fuel out of the clear tubes used for checking float height) I don't know how else you could simulate "real world" with them on the bikeIf I am following your question correctly, I have not done that. Are you saying to blow into the black plastic tee fitting vent?Have you tried blowing with your mouth and a piece of pipe as they fill with the bowls on (it appears all the testing so far has been with the bowls off)

02 Jun 2025 07:52Those look amazing! I thought mine looked good after hitting the ultrasonic.
I will double check those tubes. Thank you.

02 Jun 2025 07:56Yes. 1983 KZ750-F1 (I believe this is correct) it is an LTD with the shaft drive. Overall in very nice shape except for mismatched paint which if I ever get it running correctly, I will be painting it seductive blue ASAP. I actually bought the bike for my girlfriend.OK, so this bike is the Kawasaki KZ750 LTD, correct?

Re: 1983 KZ750 F1 Carbs driving me crazy!
02 Jun 2025 08:03The only time I have fuel coming out of the bowl drain is when I have the drain plug open. I have been using clear tubes on the drains to figure out what is going on with the leaking. If the drains are shut, the two carbs will just overflow out of the carb inlets (airbox side).Leaking thru the bottom of bowl, thru overflow barb can also be caused by plugged-up carb casting vents.
Do you think a plugged vent somewhere could be causing the overflow issue? I have to admit I am not real familiar with the CV34 carbs on this bike.

To the best of my knowledge the fuel level can only get that high if the float valve isn't closing

02 Jun 2025 09:14That knowledge helps a lot more than you may realize. I have a plan to recut the float valve seats if needed, or even replace them if that is what it takes. It has had me chasing my tail for months and I am afraid that I am missing something while trying to nail this down. If there is no other route for the fuel to come into the carbs other than the needle / seat, I will find a way to fix them.To the best of my knowledge the fuel level can only get that high if the float valve isn't closing
Thank you!
