Fitment For 1983 KZ750 L3 Carbs
28 May 2025 16:00
I need the help of a Kawi fitment wizard.
I'm going to try and start with, hopefully, known good carbs from a running motorcycle to replace the carbs on my 1983 L3 750.
What models used the same carbs on the KZ750 L3 and KZ700? I want to open up my search as wide as possible.
I'm going to hopefully find a set on eBay.

It's very unlikely that you will find a set of plug and play carbs on eBay. Anything you buy will need a full rebuild, cleaning, parts assessment, then assembly with new O-rings and gaskets.
The carbs in question are Mikuni BS34's, tuned for a 750. The 1982 GPz750 used the same carbs, which makes sense since that bike shares many parts with the L series bikes.
Kawasaki also used BS34's on the 1000 and 1100 bikes, but there are some differences in terms of jetting, needles, needle jets, air jets, slides, etc. They likely could be made to work, but some serious tuning may be needed.
Lastly, the ZX750 family of bikes used BS34's. Again, some differences. I suspect they could be adapted easier than the 1000/1100 carbs, though.

These two are flip-flopped...
1983 L3
Keihin CV34 - BS34
1983 H4
Mikuni BS34 - CV34
Also realize, the ZX750 bikes BS34 are different from the earlier version BS34

There may be one in the filebase located on this site. I did not go hunting for it so do not know if it is here or not.
But you can find lots of info and manuals and parts list here
kz.bike-night.com/
