Apologies if this has been covered before but my searches proved fruitless...
Which direction should the valve gasket face, on one face it has a thin lip and a recess like this
The other side is relatively flat like this
The manual does not specify a direction and the images don't show the details.
The bike is an 1981 (K)Z1000J1
