1985 GPZ550 Carb Rebuild Kit Request

Good day all! I did a search and the earliest post I could find on this subject was 2017 and since 2020, things seemed to have changed. I am really new to this even though I had an 82 GPZ550 years ago, now I want to learn about my newly acquired '85 bike and complete moderate repairs. Current situation is that the bike was fine and ran when I looked at it to purchase it. Transported it 500km home and it is now leaking fuel from where the center stand mounts AND it filled the left cylinder with fuel (so an oil change is necessary). I took the tank off and the petcock does not leak in the on position. Anyway, I want to address the fuel issue. I assume it's either (or all) the needles, seats,  floats, needle springs, and/or crap just got in there due to the bikes originally rusty tank. If anyone could direct me to the proper rebuild kit(s), and maybe add some tips or tricks, that would be so appreciated. Also assuming these are TK27 carbs on the bike. If I am missing information or need to post pictures of the carbs, please let me know.  The closer to Canada the better. Thank you all so much!

Thank you for the information on the site. Very nice to have a parts breakdown. Too bad I am not able to thank that member for creating that site.

I hope it is alright to ask a specific question, if anyone can have a look at this ebay listing to verify if the parts look correct? It lists the 1985 ZX550-A, so I should be able to go, but I don't know enough yet to know.

Do you actually need any of those metal parts? In most cases, the only things that need replacing are the soft parts - gaskets and orings. If you must have kits, Keyster are the go-to folks.

It looks like the orings are still available from Kawasaki. They may be pricey, but you will not find higher quality anywhere.

P.S. The big exception to the soft part replacement rule are the slide diaphragms. Treat them very carefully and do not expose them to any chemicals. They are delicate, and if replacements are available, they can be shockingly expensive.

EDIT: I just looked up the parts diagram for the 1985 GPZ550, and it shows Mikuni BS carbs, not TK27's.  My recommendation below is based on the kits shown earlier, which are TK.  If the parts diagram is correct, these kits won't work.  You need O-rings, and gaskets.  I have an O-ring kit that should work, if interested.  Otherwise, source the proper kit from a place like Sirius, or order all the individual O-rings needed: pilot screws, float valve, drain screw, vent Tee's.  Then buy float bowl gaskets, which are common to all BS carbs.

EDIT2: Disregard what I posted above.  I must have clicked on the 750 parts diagrams, not the 550.  The carb kits shown below should fit your carbs.

Just remember, a full teardown is required, including unganging the carbs.  No need to remove the throttle shafts, but remove everything else.  Then soak the hard parts like jets, and carb bodies in carb dip.  Shoot compressed air and carb spray through all the internal passages, to make sure the passages are clean.  Hold up the jets to a light, and make sure the orifice is open.

have replaced while everything is apart.

Consider new rubber boots that hold the carbs to the head.  Being rubber, and 40 years old, replacing them is money well spent.

Thank you for the advice. I heard new rubber boots can get rid of a lot of headache when dealing with the carbs. 

Took actual pictures of my carbs. Still on the bike. Learning that things actually have names on them. 😆
Turns out the carbs on my bike are TK carburetors. I’ll attach a picture just in case I do actually have it wrong, which is possible.    

Those are TK carbs and I do have a question about them. In the second pic you posted (from left side of bike as you sit on it) there appears to be something (might be ID) stamped just above the float bowl / carb joint. I can not read it no matter how I attempt to alter it. Can you provide what may be there?

Thanks for the pic, but no I was asking for the info just above the float bowl not the top of the carb.
