That sounds like the best plan.

That's funny Daveo!! Used to live in a "fancy" neighborhood but still did what i do now as a hobby. There's always that ONE neighbor! My son used to ride a GoPed 2-stroke weedeater engine variety, all summer long. That i'm sure was annoying enough. Luckily had Great Neighbors and we helped each other out so just that one cat. But that One person can cause you a lot of grief or HOA/Municipal peace officers will wanting to have a chat with you. You know the saying, never S%$T in your own backyard, ha.

That deplorable one-way conversation started after I changed from .8 to .9 Air Jets.
Honestly, for the horrible way the engine ran (less-than a minute), I can't blame the dude for cussing me out.  I'da done it too.

So, now that that's over, and we've rolled nearly 1500 miles so far this year...

I feel this essentially new motor is turning out well, and proving it's well worth the effort-time-money stuffed in it.

She goes, and I honestly feel that Kawasaki built the 1100A Shaft chassis to fit this motor like a glove.

Raising the needles a notch made quite a difference in the tone of her moan...and I'm loving it!

I changed pilot jets from 15 to 17.5 and the main jets from 122.5 to 125 in my RS34 carbs.
These subtle changes really smoothed out the idle and boosted engine performance!
😜

It produced an even color to the spark plugs, but also richened them up a bit much, I think.

Relative spark plug condition with .8 air jets installed and fuel screws about 1/8 turn out:

Like to lighten them up a bit and improve the color.
I'll try the .9 air jets again, and lower the jet needles if that doesn't work.

Almost good enough...for the time being.

😉

Did neither...

After more thought, I decided to put the 122.5 main jets back in, and went for a test ride...

She felt sluggish with 125 mains, but not anymore!

Also the carb slides would stick when cruising, but release again with a quick throttle blip, or as the bike slowed with engine rpms.
That strange issue ceased entirely when the main jets were changed back.

Gotta get out there and lay down some more rubber!!!
