1974 Kawasaki Kz 400 Float bowl Gaskets
05 Apr 2025 05:27
Hello can anyone Recommend some decent carb repair kits with float bowl gaskets that fit? I have tried 2 Ebay specials, but the gaskets are too small unless its just me being incompetent, I have tried sticking them down with gasket cement which I don't like doing but I can get them in 3 of the 5 corners but then the other side pops out,
Thank you
Andre

I have not worked on a set of these carbs (Keihin CVB 36) in many years, so take this info with that thought in mind. From info I can find the bowl gasket is Kawasaki part# 16019-024. A quick search on line produced several locations that claim to have them.

www.kawasakipartsnation.com/oemparts/p/k...24/o-ring-float-ball
www.amazon.com/Shaped-Ring-Float-Bowl-Gaskets/dp/B01L0BCUOQ
Now having said all of that I do not know if any of the links do have them in stock or not, but they claim to have them. Further I do not know if the items they have are any different than the ones you currently have.

Partzilla shows it as NLA, but Webike shows it in stock and tariff free!

Looks like CMS also has them.

In case you are not familiar with these three companies, they sell genuine Kawasaki factory parts. They also have some aftermarket stuff, especially Webike. You may want to hold tightly to your wallet. The temptations can be powerful........

The proper size is 2.0 x 67 (thickness x ID). Use super glue or similar, to hold the O-ring in the float bowl groove, until it holds in place. I have O-ring kits for the Keihin 750 carbs, and the Keihin 400/440 carbs seem to use the same O-ring.
