Suzuki GS1000 carbs on a KZ1000 ???

I have here in storrage a Mikuni VM26 carburetor system that appears to have come from a Suzuki GS1000. These typically have both mixture screws (fuel, from below) and idle air screws (on the side).
Do any of you have experience with this on a 1977 KZ1000?..I've never tried the Suzuki VM26s on a Kawasaki, but I could imagine that the two-way idle mixture adjustment in this case could produce good results? Or is "more" more likely to be "less" in this case?Any comments or experiences about this?
Thank you!!
Greetings, Joe

Common to see both 900's & 1000's with Suzuki carbs on here in the UK. Often Susuki VM26's are bought by "accident" when looking for replacement carb racks.
There's no great advantage or disadvantage to either type other than airscrew are easier to adjust without burning your hands trying to adjust a fuel screw underneath.
If you plan to use them the fuel screw 3/4 out from seated and airscrew 1 1/2 out.
Colourtune for fine adjustment.
You can easily turn the throats out to 29 for added ooomph.

I have both Suzuki VM26's ( bored out to 29.5mm ) and VM32 ovalbores ( 1000 katana ) on a few of my Z1000's and they work just fine.
It should be noted that the Suzuki carbs run different spec internals with larger pilots and smaller mains so like for like the Suzuki require a smaller main by around a couple of sizes than the Kawasaki version in the same application.

Hey fellows,
Thank you for this informations! It's exactly as Bob described: I found 27.5 pilots and 100mm main jets, and I was a bit puzzled by this combination! Robert's explanation solved the mystery for me

.Before I unnecessarily mess around with gasoline too often: In your experience, is it possible that I could try using the Suzuki configuration of 100 main jets and 27.5 pilots, or should I just equip these carburetors with the usual main 112.5-115 and 15-17.5 pilots?
And I suspected that the variable setting options might make it a bit more sensitive to adjustment...Thanks again!
Greetings, Joe
